Do not be DifferentA Poem by Morgan Blandtriggered?Do not be different for the sense of feeling unique. Do not be different for a sense of superiority. Be different for the sake of humanity, Not for people. Be different for the pursuit of truth, Not for correctness. Do not be different to make a change, light a fire For fires in their warmth can also be on-bringers of death. That is not to say don’t be dangerous For being different drags its persecutors behind it wherever
it travels. Be different to seed hope, replenish love, & harvest
understanding. Uniqueness, so often used, an excuse to need protection Instead, should be, an exclamation, protection for someone
else. Do not be rain in a desert, nor flame in a deep cavern For the rain, though shortly remembered, will soon be
forgotten & all will be dry once more The flame, the same, shall also soon extinguish Be different, not simply to make an impact, but to preserve
human compassion Be a deep well, full of understanding A hoard of fire-flies, willing to carry hope, multiple
directions For uniqueness without pure purpose is but difference in indifference. © 2018 Morgan BlandAuthor's Note
