The Knock of Reality

The Knock of Reality

A Poem by Morgan Bland
"

Knock, Knock. Will you answer?

"

Knock, Knock

Hello, it is Reality

Knowing you didn’t want to see me

You hide

Thoughts collide

Piling on distractions

Books, Movies, Work: multiple reactions

I know I am unwanted

That by me you feel haunted

But please, let me step inside

For one thing I truly am is real

Enabling you to truly feel

Pay attention

For stripes don’t match with plaid

Mismatch shoes, bed head: aren’t a new fad

Three times two doesn’t equal rainforest

Aren’t you glad my knocks struck up a chorus?

Please join me again

I’ll try not to be your bane
