Twenty-four Coins a Day

Twenty-four Coins a Day

A Poem by Morgan Bland
"

a poem

"

Twenty-four coins a day, sir,

Twenty-four coins a day.

Make sure you spend them well.

Sometimes only time will tell.

A coin here, a coin there.

That one was stolen, that’s not fair!

Always slipping away, beware, beware

Twenty-four coins a day.

Some may say, “Come what may.”

But they will have to pay.

Twenty-four coins a day

Eight, drifting away

Several lost,

Sneaking away, while pondering cost

All the questioning, our brains we exhaust

Questioning, questioning…

How to spend life’s allowance:

Twenty-four coins a day?
