My old man

My old man

A Poem by Katherine Clair Piche
"

This is a poem that I wrote for my father after He had passed away from a hard but short suffering for Cancer, R.I.P. R.P.E. Piche August 24th - September 20th 2005.

"

Thought my life

He has been my every smile

He keeps the gleam of my heart

and the love of my eyes

 In his pocket

Daylight appears when thinking

  of his voice...feeling the whispers

 in my ear...

I fear of one day

The day  he will be dancing

In the hands if the horned god.

Galloping his way to throw you

  into the sky

As I smile, feeling the wind..

Shining in your glories ways, you are

not alone.

Grasping for every essences

I shed liquid light from my seeing heart

A distant hand...waving you on..cheering

   you on.

As my old Man

A very touching poem. This poem made me go back to the time when I lost a dear loved one as well, my grandfather.

And made me realize the longing my mother had for her father, and my father for his. It did enligthen.

Thank you.
