An Endless Mile

An Endless Mile

A Poem by piccolabeth

What is this shell-shocked silence?
It's voice is so profound.
Inside I weep for the pain and the violence
That spends its time renowned.

I've strayed so far beyond my roots
That the ground is digging into my boots.
Ever pace is an endless mile
Away from this submerged denial.

What is this tortured testimony?
It's voice remains so drowned.
Inside I fear for the fate of my destiny,
My circles are losing their round.

I've thrown away the love they hold,
So far away that my heart,it feels cold.
Every breath us a short lived lie -
The cruel intent of an endless cry.
