I Needed You More

I Needed You More

A Poem by piccolabeth

shall I tell you a story?
Shall I tell you a tale?
Of the heart-break and fury,
Of my search for the Grail?
Of the time that I sat,
Collapsed on your floor -
Of all of the times
That I needed you more...
More than the being
Who held me so tight.
My eyes were not seeing
That this is YOUR fight.

Can I tell you I love you?
Can I tell you I care?
How much I still need you
When you can't be there?
You show me the way
When I find myself lost.
Will you make it to May?
Or is that the cost
Of being my companion,
Of being my friend?
How are you so valiant
When all this could end?

So I'll tell you a story
Of a girl I adore,
Who stood with such glory
When they handed out more.
How she never gave in,
How she never did fade.
Yet for all of our sins
She surely had paid.
So pay her her dues
Before she is gone.
Be the ones to amuse
Before it's too wrong.

All of this time
I needed you more.
