Lamentation

Lamentation

A Poem by Barizorge Mbaa
"

A dirge I wrote in memory of my beloved aunt whose golden beam eclipsed on 12th Nov., 2012

"

      Lamentation

At the ninth hour

The twain of the seventh,

Gracious note of brilliance

Resolved in sound so muted;

The moon of the eleventh

Diminished a chord of six.

In dark, crisping crescendo

A lied with tears unfolded.

Breathing airs so hellish

My brows fann'd the glade;

Flames of melted ice

Burrowed my heart of stone.

November,

The eleventh of twelve

Vouchsafed not our plea;

Like a dark scavenger

The twelfth sun of its moon

Devour'd an angelic-breed.

Sleep on ,

O' gentle maid

Your unbirthed dawn

My theme and song;

The black veil of November

Eclips'd your golden beam.
