Our Doctors

Our Doctors

A Poem by Pia

A medical anomaly
Two hearts, but one soul

Twins, close,
An artery like two hands clasping
Vying for the same sweet jam jar

The doctors watched close, as each tasted life for the first time
Watched one share all it had
And one take all it could

As one grew strong
And the other weak
And the doctors watched, fascinated and sterile,
The scientific detachment of
gods peering in the fishbowl

And still they stared
And they did nothing
