I Want to Weep

I Want to Weep

A Poem by Pi Cee

I need the shriveling action of dying

to dry up my bleeding heart.

It hurts to look, but the sun is so pretty

alive in the sky thriving in space.

I need a drink, and a ciggarette

to take way my mind to a hidden place

one I've rarely let it visit lately

it's feeling deprived.

I need my tears, to just wash away

I don't want the water, I want to close my flood gates

but they only dry out, so I need a hole

to curl up and die in,

to settle my guilt.

Melancholic, to say the least, but also very able to be related to. We all usually just want to crawl into a hole and die, or disappear, at one point. Guilt is an insidious thing, like a worm that squirms and writhes inside, difficult to forget.

"I need my tears,/To just wash away/I don't want the water,/I want to close my flood gates"; what a touching line. There is nothing wrong, and no shame in, crying. But, then again, your flood gates dry out..... meaning perhaps too much? Nicely done, my friend. And I hope that guilt gets rooted out soon.

. you're too beautiful a poet and human to be guilty of anything except utterly exquisite poetry ...

And when the hole's found, will the guilt settle? An interesting read!
