Her Moment

Her Moment

A Story by Pi Cee

The light's coming through the window, angling down throw the blinds, through the black lace thrown up as curtains. The bed curved down with her weight, her legs drawn under her. Thoughts and music notes float in and around her mind. The golden light through the window lighting her hair in a perfectly lovely way. The blanket curved along the bed like a snake. Paper and pen off to the side. She sits here like this, still, eyes closed. Wishing.

Or not wishing exactly, but hoping. And needing. And wanting. Taking back all those words, all those mistakes that haunt her day by day. She saves them, for these moments, where in the little vast world of her mind she rights all the wrongs that she shouldn't have turned on to knowingly. In these moments, everything's right as she thinks it should have been.

The light comes through her window, changing angles, sinking down. Her hair loses it's light, the room goes dim, and her moment ends.
