Today and Yesterday and Tomorrow

Today and Yesterday and Tomorrow

A Poem by Pi Cee

The day is cold
the sky is gray
the trees are bare
and the road is cracked.

"Her face still smiles
and there's light in her eyes."

Pi Cee, this poem has really touched me tonight. The image of the cracked road is very strong, it makes me think of a dry dessert, but this is a cold climate, stark. Then the last line flows like a soft but steady life force. It is such a beautiful contrast to the first part, even the way you italicized it.

On a personal note, today has been rough for me and this was really lovely to read just now. Thank you for sharing.

doesn't require many words where there is real power in their meaning. this is superb! the final sentence says everything about the delicate balance of seeing the positive thru the negative.
