You're Imaginary

You're Imaginary

A Poem by Pi Cee

I was told you weren't good for me,
that I wasn't good for you.
That I was still learning,
I couldn't teach what I barely knew.
That stars don't like it
when they're picked up and their magic used.

I was told I didn't know
that I'm pure beauty and picturesque.
I was told I couldn't tell
the difference of sincerity.
I was told I was a child
that I'd need to grow up.

I was a child,
quite the while ago.
I had to grow up,
this is me grown up.
I know what purity is,
I know I'm not.
I wouldn't take too many pictures
the flashes will blind me.

I will still wish on stars
that sparkle in any night sky.
I think I know what I know,
and that I'll say what I want to say.
I can tell what's good for me and what isn't,
I can make my own decisions.

You spoke well and with heart.

When I read this, I had an idea pop up in my mind. It made me think of pictures. Though we take pictures and they capture the moment, the moment is not the future, merely a memory to reflect upon. Thus, does that mean those who never have the pictures taken wish not to reflect upon the past? Or simply be allowed to move forward with out any time stamps on their passport of life.

I really enjoyed how this piece ends on a strong and inspiring note. It breathes to life a hope for better things.

this is a very coming of age piece that speaks to and for a lot of people. Subtle in it's forcefulness, but forceful just the same.

I just love the way you put emotions into your writing.

Maybe, I can tear myself away now and put pen to paper. Yeah, I still use pen and paper for a rough draft.

thank you for publishing.
