PleadingA Poem by Phonetics
Stay.
I am begging not with my lips But my eyes shape the words That my soul cries out for; As it is written clearly deep In the scriptures of the heart, No man can live alone, And share a love that is housed Between two beings. So stay. Don’t return to that life That is dull as my own, So drawn out in flickering Sensations that do not register To its beautiful potency. Please... stay... Should you not take this offered hand, You rip away a life you could Have had. But a fear riddled Path, stabs imaginary knives Through your sole And stings and stings the hope Of “Us”. Stay, love. You are my missing puzzle piece, The craving of my completedness Moulded into the shape That fits under my rib And flutters like a hummingbird Does. My power may be limited, For I am not God But I do thank him for Breathing such glorious life To your limbs. Stay.... Know... know this, my heart That whatever that makes Me and holds me together; My image, my health, my wealth, My mind and my life on the earth, It all belongs to you, For I delight in sweet surrender. Stay... stay... In this house I built just for you, A shelter that will weather us Greatly from the storm And slanting eye of the world. You will find peace here In my arms as I have found In your voice and the breeze Of your caresses. Stay. Stay. Stay. With me. It is not hard. © 2018 PhoneticsAuthor's Note
