Always Loved, No Matter What

I wrote this poem because a friend of mine is pregnant and I thought about what most mothers speak of as love at first sight with their child and everything like that.

Amazing life will come to pass

I know she will make it last

Soon to find she loves the most

He who now her body is host

So much love her heart may burst

How can anything feed this thirst

But now soon she'll come find

What she finds will ease her mind

That no matter what happens next

The one who loves her will not be vexed

No matter what happens at any turn

Now she knows that she can learn

That love is love, there's not much more
