Depressing seasonsA Story by KatieAtmospheric writing
Turning colors, changing seasons. There is somethingalways depressing about watching the colored leaves fall off the tall, dark, old oak trees. It could be because the cold harsh winter is about to set I'm, or maybe that the beautiful golden sun hides away in the grayish-black clouds as if playing a simple game of hide and seek.
It's as if the earth itself goes into a deep, deep slumber, leaving us to fend against razor sharp winds and below freezing temperatures. Everything, even the littlest insects, go into hiding. Everyone, yes, Everyone knows that when the days get shorter, colder, and darker-- that's when the white snow falls and the harsh winter begins. Asleep is what we are, even though we are still moving, but starving for the sun's stunning rays to shine down on us. Waiting is all it is. © 2017 Katie |
