Same song, Same danceA Poem by PhoenixWhitea guy, a girl who just can't get it right
I'm happiest when I'm with you
Funny, though, I'm saddest too When you are gone, it's like I die And when you leave, I always cry I have loved you far too long We keep doing the same dance, Singing the same song I want you gone But, I want you in my arms. This is what happens When I am caught up in your charms At some point this has to end Either we both turn and walk away Or embrace and start again I'd like to think I have the solution The thing to make this right But what won't fix it is You staying out all night 2 wrongs don't make a right We've known this way too long If it did, we'd never repeat The same dance, same song One of us has to be strong enough To turn on one heel and leave Or one of us have to be strong enough To run to the other and believe Trust is something to build on Love, we already have Commitment we must work on Forever, we don't have A dress, a cake and a fancy suit This is a dream, of course A different dress, a eulogy, another fancy suit means we have run our course. I want to love you forever But, my word, it seems so long! It'd be nice if we could get off this dance floor Stop dancing to this same song If you love me like you say you do There is only one choice to make. If I love me, like I think I do There is only one road to take. But I can't take that route because I have been charged to love you I can't lose that part of me That part of me, that is you. This game we play has lasted way too long let's do what we want do a different dance, play a different song
