Thank you'sA Poem by PhoenixWhiteI wrote this for my dad, my mom didn't want to be rude by telling people not to bring food and such. Duke Cancer Research Center asked for permission to use it in one of their publications.
Thank you for the kind words
the prayers and well wishes. But when you come to visit, please don't bring food dishes. My cells, you see are fragile, and just getting used to me again. I don't want to be on Flagyl, or in the hospital again. I can't wait for you to visit, but leave your shoes outside the door. Hit the sanitizer and grab a mask, or you can't come back no more. What I'd like to see besides your smile are cards from near and 'cross the miles. But within the envelopes you may include coupons, discounts and gift cards for food. Although we love fresh fruit and flowers they require too many showers. Save them for later, they will keep til then, if you come empty handed, we'll still be friends Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, we love you all so very much. This stem cell thing was taken over but, please do keep in touch. I'll be glad when this is over, a vacation is well over due. But enough about me and these stem cells, We just wanted to say THANK YOU!
