Logistics of Escape

Logistics of Escape

A Poem by PhoenixWhite

You can't come in here, it's dark in here
You'd never find your way.

I can't come out to run or shop
or visit friends or even play.

You can't come in, it's dark you see
You can'e even see my face.

I won't come out and expose myself
I think I like this place.

It's dark and cold and lonely,
but familiar, all the same.

I can stay in here, inside my head
and carry all the blame.

I can throw a tantrum in here
without ridicule or dissatisfaction

In my head, I'm the main stage
I am the main attraction

In here where it's dark and cold
and lonely and expanse

I can do what I want.
I can always get a second chance

It never dawned on me til now
how the logistics of this works
always there, in the back of your mind
an escape plan from the world
