*Alyssa's P.O.V.*

"Lady Alyssa! Lady Alyssa! Quick you must wake up!" yelled my maid, Clarissa outside the door. I got off my bed, thinking it was morning and slipped into my dress. I could hear footsteps running and guards yelling something.

"Clarissa? What is going on?" I asked, suddenly worried. I opened the door and Clarissa looked frantic. I felt someone push the door so I stepped back and saw mother looking grave.

"Quick my child, enter through the portal. I'll have to send you to Lucain's kingdom," Mother said gently and I blinked. Lucain, my best friend. He grew up with me when we were three and we used to visit each other's kingdoms. We had so much fun until we both became 18. We couldn't see each other but rarely like during the Royal Fairs. I missed him a lot and how we used to play when we were young.

"Why mother? It's not like we're under attack or something," I protested and mother pushed me into my room and told Clarissa to pack my things. Mother took out my crown, set it gently on my head and gave me some mints. My favorite. I popped them into my mouth and sulkily sat on the chair.

"My child, the Kingdom is under attack and I must send you to your safety. Lucian's place would be best and do not fear, your father and I shall protect the Kingdom," Mother said and I gulped.

"Who's attacking?" I asked quickly and mother sighed.

"It's the Vampire Demons," she said and turned away. Vampire Demons. They were the one that plagued the Three Royal Kingdoms for centuries. The Three Royal Kingdoms were the Kingdom of Fire, Lighting, and Water. People who were taken were soon turned into Vampire Demons and there were rumors that they could turn back into a human with a very special weapon, an arrow dipped in cow's blood, left alone for three days, then washed with holy water and put the magic of life in it. Magic. Yes, that's what the Three Royal Kingdoms all possess. We cast magic. For good deeds but some people use it to kill one another.

"Queen Melissa, it is done," Clarissa said bowing and my mother took the bags from Clarissa.

"Hurry, my child. Through the portal," mother said firmly and she pushed me towards my huge mirror. She touched the mirror and the mirror rippled as if it was water.

"Mother, I don't want to leave the Kingdom of Fire. I don't want to go to Lucian's Kingdom," I said, crying and mother hugged me. I sniffed and rubbed my eyes. Mother murmured a spell and my tears vanished instantly.

"You'll want to look presentable to Lucian," she said and I nodded, still trying not to cry. Mother tossed the bags into the portal and I put my arm in the mirror. I was transported to the Kingdom of Lighting and entered a lovely cozy room. I felt a pair of strong arms immediately surround me and I smelled the scent of sweet cologne. Lucian's. It's called Rosy Roses and it's quite an odd choice for a guy.

"Alyssa, are you alright?" He asked gently and I immediately broke down. Tears started streaming down my face and Lucian hugged me tighter.

"I don't know if mother and father will be fine. What if they die Lucian?" I sobbed and Lucian carried me towards his bed. I realized I had entered his room through the portal.

"Hush now, they'll be fine. Now, go to sleep," he said gently and covered me with his bed sheets. He sat next to me, holding on to my hand, and I kept on crying. I soon stopped crying and Lucian gently took off my crown and leaned down.

"Can't sleep?" He asked and I nodded. He muttered something and I soon started to drift off to sleep.

"Sweet dreams Alyssa," he said and I replied, "You too." I fell asleep and was greeted by nightmares.

*Alyssa's POV*

In my nightmare, I was in the meadow playing with Lucian. He was holding on to my hand and I felt like we were little kids. Lucian looked at me for a long time and I smiled at him. But he continued staring at me. I let go of his hand and poked him on his cheek but he didn't move. He was frozen. I could see tiny icicles on his eyelashes. I stared in horror as the flowers in the meadow wilted and the meadow grass turned brown. Everything went cold and soon it was snowing. A figure was coming to me from a distance and I saw that it was a Vampire Demon. I screamed and I tried to run as fast as I could but I seemed to run in mud. Everything was so slow. My legs felt heavy and it was soon getting harder to run. I looked back and saw the Vampire Demon as my mother. My mother! I stopped and watched with horror and she devoured Lucain slowly, and he soon was ripped into pieces. I screamed once more as my mother turned towards me.

"Alyssa! Wake up!" Someone yelled and I jolted awake. Lucian was pale and shaky and I remembered the nightmare. I tried to lift my arms and I felt as if someone was squeezing me too hard.

"Ack Lucian, I'm getting a hard time to breathe," I said, panic rising in my throat.

"Relax, you were thrashing around while you were sleeping so you got tangled up you dummy," Lucian said laughing weakly and untangled me. I launched into his arms and he caught me by surprise.

"Thank goodness you're not a vampire demon," I said, crying with relief and Lucian stiffened. I leaned back and looked into his eyes. It wasn't his usual nice green eyes color. This time, there were hints of dark blue. The color of the eyes of a vampire demon. What the heck?

"Lucian? Why are your eyes like that?" I demanded and Lucian gave me a fake smile.

"Contact lens my good friend. Er, shall we have breakfast?" He asked and I looked at him suspiciously. Lucian never wore contact lens. He said they irritated him and make his eyes itch and hurt. I knew he was lying. Definitely lying.

"Yes, let's go for breakfast," I said trying to sound cheerful. Lucian tossed me a dress and told me where the shower was.

"The dress is from my little sister. She said you could have it," Lucian said turning away and I pointed at my bags.

"I have dresses right here," I huffed and he turned to look at me.

"You know my sister missy."

"So what? I got my own clothes!"

"Just accept it."

"For goodness sake Lucian, really, you must seriously know that I can't wear other people dresses."

"It's a gift from my little sister! Just accept damn it you spoiled little ungrateful brat" Lucian snapped, finally losing his temper. I started to lose my temper too.

"How dare you call me a spoiled little ungrateful brat you stupid kid!" I yelled and Lucian snarled back, "Watch it little girl. I can just twist your pretty little neck anytime I want to." He stormed out of the room and I sighed angrily. I took a shower, put on the dress, and examined myself in the mirror. I'll have to admit, the dress was pretty and looked as if Lucians little sister never wore it. There was a timid knock on the door and I opened it. Lucian's little sister, Chelsea, looked up at me.

"Oh, you wore the dress! I had that in the back of my closet the whole time and I got it like last week!" She chirped and I stared at her.

"Why did you even give me your new dress Chelsea?" I asked leaning down and she gave me a smile. She's only a head shorter than Lucian but I am the same height as him. For some strange reason, me and Chelsea has the same sizes for dresses. Weird yet cool. I walked down the stairs with her and sat at the dining table. The room was magnificent. Shiny marble floors and it is so pretty that when I walk in my high heels, I usually stop to look at the pretty designs. The columns are made of marble and there are so many portraits and cool pictures. I sat next to Chelsea and in front of me was Lucian and his mother. The father sat at the end of the table and soon the servants came in with food.

"Biscuits along with butter and warm coffee for the beginning course. The second course will be French food which shall be beef burgundy, catalonian meatballs, chicken a la diable, butternut squash and sage pasta, bouillabaisse, and last of all, brie stuffed pain perdu with cranberry cherry sauce. Dessert shall be also French which will be apple tartlet, apple dessert, apple tarte tatin, and breton butter cake," said the butler. Wow. How could he remember all that? I glanced at Lucian who looked bored and told the butler to get on with it. How rude! The butler simply bowed his head and left the room and maid entered carrying dishes. It smelled wonderful. I dug in once I got mine and I tried every food there was. Lucian only ate the apple tartlet and drank about six cups of coffee. Weirdo. Who drinks that much coffee? I felt sick the last time I tried that. I was so tired at that time and I stayed up late just to finish reading a 39,502,025 pages book. It was 54 series stuck together. A manga. My favorite. Ta Ta and the Magical Kingdom. It's childish really. Or so Lucian thinks. Who cares anyway?

I sneaked a look at Lucain and saw him with his strange hints of blue eyes. Creepy. Totally creepy.

"Thanks for breakfast," I said and Lucian's parents beamed at me.

"No problem dear," Lucian's mom said. I smiled at her and I went to my room. Or rather Lucian's room. I plopped down on my bed, only to find someone else lying on the bed. Alyssa's POV

"Eep!" I yelped and the person clamped a hand over my mouth.

"Be quiet you little pest," the person snarled and I clawed the hand in terror. The door opened and Lucian entered in, sipping on a pink colored juice and blinked. He opened his mouth and then closed it again.

"Amy...what are you doing here?" Lucain asked, putting his glass of juice on the table. My attacker a.k.a. Amy lifted her hand off my mouth and stood up.

Now that I saw Amy, she was gorgeous. No... amazingly beautiful. As if she was an angel. She had beautiful shiny silky blonde hair and she was tall compared to me. She had an amazing figure and she was in a pretty dress. Me? I'm a no one. I'm just an ordinary princess with a prince blah blah.

"I'm here to visit you moron," she huffed and then pointed at me.

"Why is a commoner even in your room?!" She asked, looking at me with disgust.

"She's not a commoner. She's my friend. She's just staying here under some circumstances. Now leave Amy," Lucain said and pointed at the door. Amy sneered, "Yeah, yeah whatever. Besides look at the commoner. She's ugly. She's not even as sexy as me." Lucain pointed at the door again and Amy blew him a kiss and laughed. Amy walked to the window and jumped out, and I screamed. I ran to the window and Amy seemed to have disappeared.

"Where did she go? Did she die? Did someone help her? What happened? Death? Blood? Suicide?" I babbled, waving my arms around .

"No worries Alyssa," Lucain said. He left the room, taking his juice with him, and I stared blankly at him. I looked out of the window once more and saw a figure running. Lucain. That was quick. And weird. I dashed downstairs and went outside.

I managed to catch up to Lucian and hid behind a huge oak tree. I looked to the side and saw Lucian holding Amy by the shoulders.

"Why the hell did you have to come?!" Lucian asked angrily.

"Yeah right. What happened if this Alyssa girl knows that you're half vampire demon? That the people she thinks who are your parents are actually your aunt and uncle? That your mother married a vampire demon man and they ended up getting killed because they weren't supposed to love each other?" Amy said, laughing like a maniac. I froze. Vampire Demon. Two words. That struck me so hard I couldn't breathe. Lucain couldn't be one could he?

"Just shut up Amy," Lucain sighed and Amy made a funny sound.

"Whatever. Just give me a freaking kiss." Amy said and Lucain laughed.

"Ha ha ha. What happened to soul sucking other people?" Lucain sneered and Amy snapped, "Their flavor is horrible. I swear, I thought one tasted like earwax! And another was too salty! But yours Lucain... yours is just... delicious! But since your part demon, you do know that I can't even completely take your soul or your energy!"

"Well then fine," Lucain muttered and Amy laughed with delight. There was a long silence and Amy sighed with content.

I looked at the side again to see Amy as now a horrible bloody looking demon. Lucain was wiping his mouth and looked disgusted.

"Disgusting Silent Hunter! Must you turn to a demon whenever you kiss someone?" Lucain asked and Amy returned to human form, now more beautiful than ever.

"But do not fear Lucain. You do know that I love you," Amy said and Lucian replied, "I know I know. I love you too."

A Silent Hunter. They are huge predators that hunts so quietly that you don't even know them. They have the power to either suck the soul out of you or just simply take your energy and for some reason, you start to hallucinate. They have killed the whole city and kingdom of Gentle Roses, the place where married couples usually live. Kings and Queens could only stay there for a month. Commoners could stay there as long as they want, whether they are poor or rich. Yet... Lucain and Amy loved each other. I felt... uncomfortable. No that's not the word... Jealousy. That's what I felt.

"I smell.... a human... nearby," Amy hissed in her weird demon voice. I couldn't hear her approaching and Ryan said, "Stop. I'll look for the human myself." My eyes widened and I tried to escape. I ran towards another tree and heard footsteps coming after me. I was almost near Lucain's place until something heavy fell on me.

"Gotcha," Lucain sad softly and I shrieked in terror. He got up and clamped his hand over my mouth. He looked around for a moment and then dragged me towards the woods once more and made me sit down next to a huge sycamore tree.

"How much did you hear?" Lucain asked shaking me by the shoulders.

"I don't know... maybe a lot?" I said sarcastically.

"Don't play dumb," Lucain said angrily and I replied, "OK I heard the part about you being half vampire demon and all that stupid junk! And you guys saying I love you to each other!" Lucain froze and his hands tightened around my shoulder.

"Oww let go!" I complained and struggled to get free.

"Shut up. Listen to me. You will not tell anyone anything that just happened," Lucain snarled. I rolled my eyes and pushed him away.

"Duh," I said and brushed the dirt off my dress. Great. Now its ruined. I straightened my hair and walked back towards the castle. I went up to Lucain's room, locked the door, and crumpled on the bed. I sobbed into the pillow and wanted to kill myself. How could I be OK if Lucain was part demon? I mean, I like him! No... I LOVE him. I thought he was the most greatest guy to step into my life. Ever.

Lucain entered the room and he sat next to me.

"Look...I'm sorry, I overreacted Alyssa," Lucain said softly and I sniffed.

"Let me just tell you something," I said, wiping my eyes and Lucain nodded.

"I got a crush on you too...N o no...I love you too Lucain. Not as a friend. As a girl to a boy," I whispered and Ryan fell off the bed.

"I...I....you.......me.....love...Amy..." Lucain spluttered and stumbled out of the room. I looked at the door for a while and then sniffed. How stupid of me. I could I said that without thinking? I felt a breeze and I looked up to see Amy looking furious.

"How dare you love my one and only soulmate?" Amy said angrily and I tried to scream but nothing came out. I tried to escape and felt something hard hit my head and everything went black.

Lucain's POV*

I walked down the stairs and I glumly sat on the couch, drinking my juice. Strawberry flavored blood. Yum. I know... sound weird but it's actually real blood... with strawberry flavoring and it turns pink. Grape? turns black. Orange... for some strange reason, turns bright yellow. I remembered the first time I saw orange, I actually thought it was pee. Yes... I did. There's a million flavors... all yummy. Yum, yum yummy ~ Ok you get it.

I laid down on the couch, placing my juice on the table, and then I smelled blood. REAL blood. Not blood with juice flavoring. I fell off the couch, nearly banging my head on the table, and stood up. I ran up the stairs and burst into Alyssa's room. She's not there. I saw broken glass everywhere and I started to sniff. I sat on the bed and sniffed some more.

"My Lord, your mother wishes for you and Alyssa to eat lunch with her." My maid said at the door. *Sniff sniff* huh? Oh tell her that me and Alyssa... are... busy with some work. Make sure she doesn't think that we're having, "It." I said. The maid bowed and left.

Sniff. Sniff. Sniff. Amy. Sniff. Her scent. Sniff, sniff. It clicked. Amy was here and kidnapped Alyssa! Damn it! I should have stayed instead of lying to Alyssa that I loved Amy. Stupid, stupid, stupid me. Crap, crap, crap! I jumped out of the window and started to sniff. *Sniff, sniff* Ok Amy went left... then right... left again... oh wow... she's taking Alyssa to her den. I ran, following the trail, and nearly crashed into five trees. Then I saw Amy.

"Amy!" I yelled and ran after her. I tackled her down and Amy tried to push me away.

"Why the hell did you take Alyssa?" I snapped and stood up, pulling Amy up with me. I held her by the throat and slammed her against the tree.

"Because I could smell the Demon huntress scent on her!" Choked Amy and I let go of her. That's what vampire demon killers are called. Women= Demon Huntress and Men= Demon Hunters. This is bad. Alyssa? A huntress? That could explain why sometimes she has a strange smell. A scent of wet fur. Well... that's what demon killers smell like to me. Stinky wet fur. It disgusts me.

"Has it awakened? Did the demon huntress cells come alive? Yet?" I asked. Amy replied, "Duh. That's why I tried to kill her. Again and again. Twice. And again!!" I sighed and said, "Give it up fool." I heard a loud crash and Alyssa screaming. Crap. Almost forgot about her. I tried to run but Amy held on to my hand.

"Need... soul... energy..." Amy choked out and she pulled me down. I kissed her and she closed her eyes, and me? I left mine open, still looking for Alyssa. Amy stopped and I ran off, wiping my mouth as I went. Ew. How do I even stand kissing Amy??

"ALYSSA!" I screamed and saw Alyssa on the ground and a huge ugly deformed half human half demon standing in front of her. Disgusting. Apparently, the human couldn't go through the change. Must not have enough demon venom to fully change the person. They disgust me. A lot.

"Alyssa move!" I yell and pushed her out-of-the-way once Alyssa stood up. I shielded her as the half demon raised his talons and brought it down. I felt a searing pain down my back and winced. I took out a dagger, turned around, and stabbed the half demon straight in the heart. Which is in the center of the stomach. The half demon let out an ear splitting scream and then turned into dust. My dagger fell to the ground and I turned to see Alyssa terrified and covered in my blood.

"Hey Alyssa, are you ok?" I asked and coughed out some blood. I held out my hand and Alyssa cringed. I glanced at my hand and saw it sucking up my blood. Like, my blood going BACK into the skin. Crap!!

"Run!" I said hoarsely and felt strange sharp things poking my mouth.

"Lucain..." Alyssa said and I looked at her panicked. If she was gonna stay, she might end up getting killed. Alyssa took one step back and then seemed to change her mind. She ran to me and threw herself at me. I caught her and we fell to the ground, Alyssa on top of me.

"You will not change... ever... Lucain," Alyssa said softly and I felt something bloom inside me. Love. So this is what real love felt like. Not fake love that I have to pretend with Amy. I really do pretend to love Amy. So she won't end up killing other people. I'm sick of her doing that. But this time, I felt hope. Hope that someone would be there to love me, not caring whether I'm half demon or whatsoever. That this someone who love me wouldn't care my parents are dead just because one of them was a demon.

"You don't care that I'm half demon because of my dead parents?" I asked and Alyssa nodded.

"I don't care whether you're ugly or not. I don't care whether you're smart or not. Whether you're mean or nice. Whether you're rich or not. True love comes from... the inside," Alyssa said softly and I felt... relieved. Alyssa could be the one. My one and only. Soulmate? Perhaps. I felt the fangs sliding back in and felt more human. I felt no demon inside me. For once, I felt like a real human. I rolled over, pinning Alyssa beneath me and I leaned down and kissed her softly. Then suddenly, I felt a strange electricity go through me. I look at Alyssa and she seemed to feel it too. I stood up and backed away from Alyssa, realizing what was happening.

"Lucain?" Alyssa asked confused and stood up. Suddenly, there was a flash of light and I covered my eyes. Once it was gone, I looked back at Alyssa. She was wearing a different dress this time. She was wearing a white and purple dress with cool looking purple diamonds on it. But this time, there were like over ten weapons surrounding her. They seemed to combine together, turn to a small orb and went straight into the center of Alyssa. Demon hunter.

The orb contains every weapon in the world. Literally, every weapon in the world. All she gotta do is call them.

"I"m a demon hunter. I can tell. I can feel it," Alyssa said in a strange tone. She looked at me and said, "But still, I still love you Lucain." I blinked twice and said, "Thank goodness. I love you too Alyssa." I hugged her tightly and Alyssa hugged me back and then suddenly, I felt a searing pain on my back. I stepped back to see Alyssa letting go of a black knife and I pulled it out of me.

"What the," I gasped and fell to my knees. Alyssa snapped her fingers and the knife disappeared.

"You...." I choked out and passed out, thinking and wondering, did Alyssa give me real love? Or was it just all a show??
