Part 2 - The Council

Sergel was shocked, and immobilized by the shock of being taken. He was scared witless, and was not even paying attention to what was happening, but to the immense beating of his heart. It wasn't till seconds after that Sergel realized what was happening. He tried to fight his way out of Ramsey's grip, but Sergel's body was weak, and limp. He was amazed on how strong the creature was, and how he was running, and gliding across the rooftops. Even though Sergel was scared out of his mind, he was marveling on what was happening. His fear showed more than anything, but beneath it wondered filled his body. He felt as if he was a bird, or a superhero, feeling the air rushed through his face as he was being forced across the rooftops. Sergel wanted to enjoy the moment in some way to forget what was really going on. So he closed his eyes, forced a smile, and let the wind brush his face.

Ramsey noticed something different in the mortal, but he couldn't exactly tell what it was. He was a dead weight in Ramsey arms, and Ramsey could barely notice a different, it was like nothing was in arms. He didn't skip a beat as he ran across the rooftops, he had to run, but no location was destined at the moment. Ramsey had to wait till the mortal was asleep to take him to the council, because no mortal knew the location, and that's how that will stay. So he kept running, and running, waiting was all he could do right now. Then looking down Ramsey saw that the mortal was sleeping away in his arms.

Sergel felt something weird, a change in the atmosphere. The wind was now faster, and colder. He scrunched his face up to block it from the cold wind. Then slowly he opened his eyes, and looked at what was happening. Everything was moving faster, blowing by, colors colliding turning into a solid black. He was frightened by what was happening so Sergel closed his eyes, wishing for it to be a dream. As quickly as it began, it ended; everything slowed down, and the world became right again. Opening his eyes he looked around trying to figure out where he was. Yet, Sergel didn't know where he was. The sky was dark, and the atmosphere was slow, and almost as if it was dead. The trees were covered in grayish green leaves, and the ground was as gray as sky.

Sergel pondered his mind trying to figure where he was, and then he found where he was. He cast his eyes along a rusted old sign, that was creaking along in the wind. The sign read Moonsilver; that's a weird name for a town thought Sergel. They passed in front of a couple of buildings, and Sergel watched as a couple of people walked by. It wasn't till he watched the people walk by that he remembered what was happening. Sergel screamed for help, but the people just keep walking by.

"Please help me, somebody." Sergel screamed. Yet again nobody paid attention. Looking harder at the people, and building he noticed something about them, like the sky, and everything else he's seen so far they were surrounded by a small gray aurora. Now Sergel was silent, and his mind went blank. He pondered his mind of what was wrong, but he couldn't supply an answer. Then looking down at Sergel, Ramsey spoke in a mild, but in mad tone, "Well looks like you didn't stay asleep like a good person, but I guess you come to learn soon enough of where we are." Ramsey spoke again after a short pause, "Master may not be happy, but just know, if get punished for your mistake I will kill you right where you stand." This made a large stone form in Sergel's throat, and the whole way till their final stop, Sergel didn't make a single noise.

Sometime after the time when they arrived in the strange town, and when Ramsey threatened Sergel, he drifted off. While he was sleeping he didn't dream of nothing, but off completely darkness, and gray clouds. Yet, when Sergel waked up he noticed something that caught his attention. A large castle stood in front of Sergel, and Ramsey. It was large, gray, and loaded down. Two large towers were at each end of the castle. Large table-sized torches hung at different location along the castle walls, and it had a large metal, and iron double doors. "Okay, Sergel don't speak unless asked a question, and don't you dare mess up, because you remember what I told you right." Ramsey spoke clearly, and casting evil eye's upon Sergel. After this, the lump grew larger in Sergel's throat, so Sergel just nodded fearfully. "Like a good little slave, just how I like them." Ramsey spoke almost with a little laughter in his voice.

Ramsey was tired, and in dire need of life force, but he needed to complete the mission to be able to go out, and hunt. So he let out a high ear-piercing scream that made Sergel fall to the ground, and flinch. Within seconds the gate on the front of the castle slowly opened. Gripping Sergel on the collar Ramsey ripped him from where he laid on the ground, and pushed on him to start moving. At first Sergel just stood there shocked by the force Ramsey applied on him, but then quickly moved by fear of being killed. So slowly they moved into the castle. As they walked into the gate they were descended into darkness. The temperature dropped even colder as Sergel walked into the castle, but to Ramsey it got warmer.

For several minutes they walked through complete darkness, but then they walked into the bright light of several lit torches. When Sergel's eyes adjusted the light he saw nothing, but two large men. They wore black masks, with horns protruding from each temple. They were standing at least 7, 2, and they had muscles that had the same size relativity to an elephant's foot. Sergel looked up at the men with eyes filled with fear, and that was the first, and last thing Sergel saw as he walked into the room. They came at Sergel, and bludgeoned him in the head with large wooden batons. At the impact of the force Sergel was knocked out.

Sergel didn't know what time he awoke, but he knew it was hours later after they arrived at the castle, and after he was so violently attacked. At the time Sergel thought he was dead, but when he awoke with a black bag on his head, he was sure he was going to die. But then they took the bag off his head, and he didn't know what was going on, but he still thought deep inside he was still going to die. Sergel gradually woke up, and looked around. His temples, head, and neck hurt terribly, and his ears were pounding with the pounding of his heart, and the blood pulsing in his temples. Everything he saw was blurry, and shaken. He couldn't tell what was what and then a small black cloud fell over his head. Sergel's pain was quickly relieved, and he felt like the day after a hangover with a good night of sleep. Then looking up he saw Ramsey rubbing his hand, then he spoke, "Now remember what I said, be good, and you won't get beat." He slowly whispered, and then walked away with small chuckles in his voice.

Sergel looked around at everything in the room. Large columns stood at the end of the room in a curved pattern, and a different symbol hanged from each. The one to the left had a large x, the one to the right had a large flame outline on it, and then the one in the middle of room had a large skull on it. Large torches hung from the ceiling, and the floor was covered with a large black, red, and gray throw rug. The room was filled with loud chatter, even though Sergel could not tell where it was coming from, because he was the only one in the room. He thought it could possibly be because of thin walls, but then he thought of how large blocks could be thin, but that was side tracked because a loud voice rang over the hall room. "Be quiet, and be settled. The meeting is now adjourned." Three people came out from two large doors on the side of the room. They were two men, and one woman; they were dressed in black, and had purple hoods covering their faces. Slowly each one slowly rose up one of the columns; appearing as if they were floating on air.

Sergel mind was sort of fuzzy, and he didn't know whether it was just a hallucination caused by the headache, or if it was real. Once they reached the top of the columns they took a seat, and they removed their hoods. The man and women on the left, and right had similar features. Both had brown hair, red eyes, and fearful, but stern smile. Yet, the man in the middle was different. The man had long white hair, eye's as black as death, and a long scar stretched across his face; it was from forehead to lip edge. Sergel slowly lifted his head to stare at the people, but put it down again to cover his eyes from the torches light. "Sergel damask, you are here today because of what you witnessed in the alley only hours ago. Is this right." The man from the middle spoke loudly, but clearly. Dumfounded Sergel replied seconds later, "Well honestly I don't know why I'm here, and for the matter I don't even know where here is."

"Well, just tell me what you saw today Mr. Damask." The man in the middle spoke again, the tone of his voice a little more vicious, and quick.

"Do... do you mean what I saw in the alley way." Sergel replied quickly stuttering a little.

"Yes, that what I mean Mr. Damask, now hurry, and tell me, I want to get this over." He replied a little more slowly, but with anger echoing in his voice.

"Well." Sergel coughed a little, and then began again. "Well, I remember I had heard someone scream for help, and in went to see if I could help. I saw the street Bum running, and I was about to say something, but then I saw the two guys jump from the rooftops. After I saw this my feet stopped moving, and I was stopped dead in my tracks. They men at first looked as if they had gray skin, and looked like they were dying. They both screamed, and they changed. I watched as their jaws arched, and two sharp fangs slid out from their mouth, and their eyes became dark, and small as slits. Then..." Sergel stopped, because what he was about to say sent shivers sent spiraling up his spine.

The man sitting in the right column gave a quick groan, and then spoke in a rich Jamaican accent, "Okay man, hurry it up a lil, you do know we do have life's right, okay let's hurry shall we."

"Edgar, that's not part of procedure." The guy in the middle spoke up again. "Don't speak unless spoken to sir." Sergel gulped, and fought the shivers off. "They... they... attacked the man, they looked as if they were draining him from the inside. After several minutes of them attacking the Bum, they both stood up. Yet they looked different, their skin looked plump, and alive, and they looked brand new. Then they just jumped off into the shadows, and up the building. I know I stood there for several minutes trying to recover from what I saw, and then I saw something that filled me with hope, and at the same time fear. The Bum slowly got up, and walked away. I decided to follow him, maybe I could help him. Then he started to run, and I ran after him. Then he jumped straight up into the sky, and disappeared into the shadows. After that I ran home, and tried to forget everything, but now I'm here." The headache started to come back, and he had to get on his knees for his head to stop hurting.

They three people started to talk, and then the girl shouted out into the room with an accent like the man in the middle. "Ramsey, Marshal. Come here now."

Sergel lifted his head up to see what was going on. Slowly a loud creak echoed through the room. A door appeared from out of nowhere. Walking through with their heads bowed was two guys. The one was the one who kidnapped him, and the other he didn't know who it was. The guy who kidnapped him looked different. His skin had barely any peach left to it, but instead was sickly gray. The other guy's skin looked the same. This guy's hair was dark black; he had green eyes, and small childish face. They both walked in front of me, and took a knee. "Were you the two who got caught by this mortal." The guy in the middle spoke angrily. The two guys silently nodded. Then the same guy spoke again "Fine, that's just great. You two are now in order to be deforced." This startled the two guys, the one went to say something, but was quickly shushed. Then the girl spoke to Sergel, "You are not going to be punished, but instead you will be forced to be taught, and put in the force program. "After she said this the two guys walked away, and the one woman, and the other girl left, the one who sat in the middle, and the one who was probably the oldest, came, and started leading Sergel away.

Shortly after the voices stopped, and the people stopped arguing, the room fell dark. Sergel thought at first when the lights dimmed down that he was going to die, then he thought he was already dead, and passing through to the afterlife. Then the old guy came, and picked Sergel up from the ground. Sergel's head was starting to pound, and everything was starting to blur in his eyes. Sergel starting to speak, but the man hushed him. "Do not speak unless talked to Sergel." Sergel rolled his eyes, and then he raised a hand. "Yes Sergel, what do you want." The old council member spoke. "May I ask you for a name and where you're taking me." Sergel replied sounding cautiously. "Merrill. Who was the guy that brought me here?" Sergel asked the council member with a voice dire with caution. Replying Merrill said, "The person name was Ramsey, now please don't speak."

The council member replied devilishly, "My name is too hard to pronounce, you just call me Merrill. I cannot tell you where I'm taking you, but you will find out as soon as we get there." So Sergel hushed up while they walked.

They walked along a long, desolate lit hallway for what seemed like hours. The hallway looked the same as the whole castle, large stone walls, and a large reddish-brown and golden trimmed throw rug across the large room. Several torches hang along the wall, every 5 or so feet. Finally they came to a large wooden door. There grand council member opened the door, and what was inside would baffle anybody who had seen the rest of the castle. The room's walls were metallic silver, and had a silvery luster. Several computers were around the room, and in the middle a large contraption stood that would make anybody cringe. A similar machine stood several feet away. Somebody was sitting in one of the machines, and the guy simply stared ahead, and then in a split of second he dropped to the floor. Sergel watched in horror, and began to panic. He tried to break free and run, but the grip the Merrill had on him was terribly hurtful.

Finally, somehow Sergel broke free, and began to run. The council member Merrill screamed out, and yelled for Sergel to be killed, and to make sure it was bloody. Sergel kept running through the castle, and not looking behind him. Sergel came out into a large open room with two towering cascading staircases. Sergel didn't see the staircases until it was too late; quickly he went tumbling down the staircase, and then rolling onto the floor. As he lifted through the pain he brought his head up and started at the group of hooded people in front of him. Sergel knew it was over, so he bowed his head, and begun to cry.

Blood covered the dark room, and several bloody corpses laid around the floor. Standing in the middle of the room was Ramsey with a devilish smirk across, and blood covering his hands. He cracked his fingers, and muttered, "I told them they couldn't kill me even if they tried." Then a loud bellowing sound rang across the castle. Ramsey knew what this was, and deep inside he wanted to stop it. He grabbed a vile, and filled it up with blood, and ran down the hall. Ramsey came out in the main entrance hall, and saw Sergel kneeling in front of several other people. Merrill was standing in front of Sergel, and a sword was raised above his head. Ramsey screamed, and he ran to the stairs as he reached the foot of the stairs he took a jump, and soared down like a rocket.

Ramsey gripped Merrill in his grasp, and tackled him down to the ground. For minutes Ramsey and Merrill wrestled; strength against strength. Ramsey got the better of Merrill, and started to punch him on the face. Punch after punch Ramsey scored on the council member. For a couple of seconds Merrill seemed to be out, and by now the other guards were starting to act. So while Ramsey had the time, he threw the vile of blood to Sergel, and then screamed to him, "Drink, and help me fight if you want to live."

At first Sergel looked at with much doubt, and disconcert. Then he opened the lid, and without a moment's notice chugged it. The blood tasted foul in Sergel's mouth, and seconds after drinking it, he was on the floor, his stomach churning wildly, his head thumping, and his heart charging rapidly. Several guards piled on top of Sergel, but then something happened. Sergel jumped up, and let a terrible roar. Something felt different in Sergel; he was stronger, his agility was faster, and he didn't know what was wrong; yet he didn't care what was going on. Sergel accepted his new powers, and attacked the guards. Several of the guards rushed towards Sergel, but quickly Sergel killed them.

Within mere minutes a pile of guards were lying around Sergel, and the floor was coated with blood; as he was to know. Sergel stared blankly at the piling corpses, and then switched his gaze over to the Ramsey, and Merrill fighting. They were moving faster than the blink of an eye. They looked like dancing shadowy silhouettes dancing across the big pallor room. Both swung punches, and both landed them to. Their faces were black, and blue. Blood covered their faces, and knuckles. Both fought gallantly, and were moving so fast that it got to the point to which you couldn't even see them anymore.

Ramsey was starting to weaken, and the old council member Merrill was acting as if he hadn't even broken a sweat. Giving it all he had Ramsey pushed forward driving himself and Merrill across the room at almost an impeccable speed. Ramsey closed his eyes, and kept driving. Then they collided with Sergel, and sent him flying across the room. Now that Sergel powers had worn off, he looked like a ragdoll flying across the room. Then when he hit the wall his skull shattered on impact, and his neck snapped. Ramsey watched in silent solitude. Even though he was just a mere mortal Ramsey had felt compassion for the little guy. It wasn't Sergel's fault that he and Marshall were caught while feeding.

If it wasn't for Merrill, he wouldn't have to have even come into contact with him, but there was no turning back. Ramsey was suddenly filled with rage, and force. He ran at Merrill and tackled him into the air. Now, Merrill wasn't even a good match for Ramsey, his force was drove by his anger, and he was as strong as all the vampires combined. They flew through the air and fought all the way; then they were stopped. A large torch had fallen off the wall when Sergel was thrown against, and now it was on the, ground point up, and protruding through Ramsey, and Merrill's heart. Blood flowed out their body as was their force. It wouldn't be long before it was over, and both knew it. Yet, Ramsey wanted to get it over quickly, so he reached over Merrill and grabbed the shaft of the torch, and pulled it towards them driving it more into their hearts. With one last strain of blood and life he pulled it forward again ending both their lives.

They thought I was dead, deforced. They only succeed in taking away my powers, but I still, my memory, and my life. Putting down my pen I closed the leather-bound book and just stared at the window. Now all I am is nothing but just a mere mortal, and at the same time I more than just a mortal. I got no powers that I honed before, but I have my memory, and sometimes the brain is more important than God like powers. To be honest it's easier being a human because you don't got to worry about feeding. I have everything I ever done, and I decided to use it. Switching my gaze back to the leather I flipped through the pages, and then closed it and signed my name on the front page; Marshall Donatello.
