Self Love

Self Love

A Poem by Phoen-ix

This year I took a hard look at myself

Much realization

Intense self love

I quit being a martyr for someone else’s suffering

I chose myself but

understood my part in it

I sat with the shame

Promised myself to try to stay authentic

I used to say

If I knew what I know now

I would never have done what I did

But truth is

You can’t go back

And life is a series of decisions

We never really know what the right thing is

Until after

So here is to all the “afters”

To accepting parts of myself I never thought I could

If it's true it is very personal and bravely shared.
If it's not it is well organized and bravely written.

Thanks for sharing

This singular realization is the spore, my friend. Though not merely in and of itself, but to the foregoing. We all have our shortcomings, after all—our moments of singular niaiserie, but it’s what we do after that matters most. Excellent work!

Water under the bridge is just that water under the bridge and that it should remain, wise words of self fermentation here if only we could all be so perceptive. Well done

“If I knew what I know now
I would never have done what I did
But truth is
You can’t go back
And life is a series of decisions“
The painful beauty of earned wisdom. I’ve felt it myself. Loved the flow of these lines and resonated with them

Thank you for sending this read request. If we don't move together with the times, the time forces us to grow, with then knowing will find or learn on what we desire to become. Take care and Happy Holidays.

It is so true that we may make a decision we feel is the right one for the moment only to later come to see it was the wrong choice. It's not always easy to forgive ourselves for those bad choices either. Because they were made with the best intentions. Life is so much trial and error, and the consequences of those choices. I feel as long as you are true to yourself, right or wrong, the decision you make is easier to live with. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.
