TransitionsA Poem by Phoen-ixI’ve
inherited Woolf’s insanity I can
hear her through the sound of the
bathtub drain Her whispers
imprint hieroglyphs depicting a bloodhound
beneath the solar eclipse And I'm sickened by Sappho and her undying
vanity Serpents
tongue leaving behind traces of
my past lives and unborn
legacies Nietzsche’s
monsters were left in the
abyss For my unconsciousness
had hissed the modern affirmation of their existence Swarms
of the damned followed Baudelaire
to the grave Conceptualizing
my forgiveness for his
perpetuated saints A
familiar strangeness of children
falling from the precipice A bloodhound
howling beneath
the lunar eclipse © 2017 Phoen-ixReviews
