Circus ManA Poem by Phoen-ix
A mother sold her baby
to a man in the circus and promised her if she was a good girl she would give her half of her earnings In the evenings Her mother spent her suffering on cheap alcohol and cancer sticks muttering to herself that this will never happen again But when her baby shoved powdered marshmallow strawberries into her swollen cheeks and grabbed a hold of her mother's hand her mother crossed the street to go to the circus again © 2015 Phoen-ixAuthor's Note
