Disaster

Disaster

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Disaster - (an event that causes serious loss, destruction, hardship, unhappiness, or death)

"

Disaster

Witness once again

The misery of devastation

Wrought by forces and processes

Controlling the phenomena

Of this physical world

Destitute despondency reigns

Within the hearts of many

Faced with uncontrollable events

And physical competence

To trounce adversity

Nevertheless, in our darkest hours

Historically can be found

Deep within subliminal psyche

Humanities survival characteristics

Guided by an unseen hand

Discarding our differences

Together with concerted cooperation

We can control and conquer

All challenging disasters

With faith, hope and unconditional love

It is only "With faith, hope and unconditional love' that we in this strained world can conquer anything, I think that is what the challenge before us is Phill. Much of the globe is in crisis and I read prophecy that now looks like today's newspaper...
Beautifully expressed as always hon xxxooxxx

Unconditional love, the most redeeming quality humanity as to offer. This is well written, with a powerful message. Good job. Sorry it took so long for me to review. I am better for reading it.

You speak true words of the world today. So much darkness, and hatred that causes disaster - natural or human. My only fear is can we conquer? With so many different spectrum of life on this earth, can we truly come together?
Your last lines -
"Discarding our differences
Together with concerted cooperation
We can control and conquer
All challenging disasters
With faith, hope and unconditional love"
Bring hope to my heart, that such hate and can be conquered.
Excellent write! So sorry for the delayed review - thank you for sharing! Hope you are well!

This is a profound piece. I love the hope at the end. Humanity always comes through with the hope that faith brings. Those quiet moments are what brings us together. There is so much darkness in the world, but we must remember, too, that there is also so much light and the light will always triumph when we think that all hope is lost ... the smallest seed is what it takes to regrow all the beauty.

Phil: This is simplicily heavy. Your vocabulary has grown. I believe this is about the disaster in Japan however I find myself looking to every disaster that has confronted mankind from the beginning of time. I do not believe that every disaster is caused by men and thus cannot be stopped by men who cannot possiblly see all disasters coming. Having said that I do believe that men are their own worst friends when it comes to playing God and it never seems to come to any good. What happened in Japan this year is easy to blame on men when looking back in hinsight. To me this work deals own a larger scale than just what men can do to themselves. For that reason I believe it has a greater part to play in the psyche of thing still to come. Well done and if possible publish this. The message is more than needed.
