A Promise Claimed

A Promise Claimed

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee

A Promise Claimed

I cast no shadow

When standing in your light,

My transparency

Refracts love’s wavelengths,

Illuminating secret pleasures

And lay bare my thoughts.

This radiance

Your passionate essence,

Reinforces my belief

That we are two in one,

A happenstance of singularity

Cast from the same mould.

And yet in truth

Compared to our mortality,

We have known one another

Just the briefest of time,

But why should we care of this

Our passions claim eternity.

Eternity awaits those who believe with all their heart and soul...that is a given. The only thing I would think differently about is that I believe we came from God, we knew him before we came here, I feel this so strongly Phill...anyway gorgeous phrasing in this and a very strong message...

I promised to come again and so here I am. I still love these words. They are as beautiful and eternal as they were when I first found them.

Yeah, I'm probably going to pretend that you wrote this just for me. It isn't arrogance, but wonder that makes me say such a thing. I recognize the words. THey seem to come from that place where all the truest words come from.

I will come back to these words again and again.

Wow, this is says a lot. It is beautifully written with the second stanza being very captivating. The last stanza is brilliant and very profound. This was very poignant from beginning to end. I enjoyed this piece.

Time will show... It is so beautiful when lovers promise love forever. I think, I will tend to say once to my lover - I love you always - for that is what I can promise and hold. Nice metaphysics - love wavelengths - that's something new. they are for sure short. That what love wavelength has to be. The long wave would be life on the fast track. That's not love. "And yet in truth / Compared to our mortality," -----if I think there is no birth and no death then I am free of fear souls then are immortal, yes that's what I think! And what is your recipe to keep passion? Seems that not many understand to keep it? Why do we have promiscuity and why so many are searching and looking and exchanging partners... you will have an answer, I know...

This stanza alone is the most beautiful that i've read in a long time.
I love it
