Retrospection/Redemption

Retrospection/Redemption

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee

Always trying something new A double Haiku format!

Retrospection/Redemption

Over my shoulder

Mists of forgotten sorrow

Come back to haunt me

But your forgiveness

Washes away dark regrets

To rekindle faith

It is so humbling to ask for forgiveness, it comes from a place deep inside the heart and when we bring that out into the open field of garlands we find that God has been waiting there patiently for the moment we realize that forgiveness is ours for the asking...the true challenge is that we take the time to forgive ourselves.
Beautiful, heartfelt Haiku Phill that calms the soul.

Well done using 2 Haiku in this format!

Good imagery and evoking emotions. Simple, concise and powerful message -- my favorite!

And you ended on a positive note, another of my favorites!

Absolutely splendid, Phill! Did you by chance mean "sorrow" instead of "sorry?" That word tripped me up. Other than that, I would say you met your challenge with absolute finesse...:-) As always...pure joy to read you! Carole
