Sometimes

Sometimes

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Sometimes with I'm thinking nothing!

"

Sometimes

Sometimes...

When subliminally listening to morning radio

An emotional lyric prompts arbitrary thoughts

And my mind slips back to past life milestones

Both good and bad introspective flashing shots

Sometimes...

When brutal winds seize the tree’s branches

Ripping easily broken leaves from their dwelling

I imagine they are similar to displaced refuges

Collateral damage from a wickedness swelling

Sometimes...

When worldwide atrocities blatantly abound

With no apparent meaningful protestations

Accept for politically pale lip-service posturing

I critically question the motives of global nations

Sometimes...

When unendurable circumstances beset many

Their collective resilience to preserve optimism

Using steadfast faith as foundation expectation

Can only be described as expressive heroism

Sometimes...

When I pause to take stock of my own conditions

Compared to those with affairs so less auspicious

Perhaps my retrospection should reflect gratitude

For all the subconscious blessings adventitious

' Sometimes... When subliminally listening to morning radio - An emotional lyric prompts arbitrary thoughts - And my mind slips back to past life milestones Both good and bad introspective flashing shots

A academic moody poem that holds both would-be answers and could be questions each oddly and obviously true. However considered - this way or that, there is suffering. .

' When unendurable circumstances beset many - Their collective resilience to preserve optimism - Using steadfast faith as foundation expectation - Can only be described as expressive heroism. '

Is easy to become locked in one's own world, even to rebuffing kindness rather than doubt fear or hide from feelings of guilt. The world has altered, the space around it too.

People cross the English Channel to live better lives yet, too many lose them. Other poor souls are completely without water or suffer tempestuous storms. People work in sweat shops, others refuse to drive lorries. Free thought muffled by happenings has gone mad. I rant and murmur because your words mean so much more than pretty phrases.. at this moment, Phill. Thank you.

Forgive me, too much.. as often rather than sometimes happens.

Indeed, sometimes being grateful for things taken for granted can reverse the effects of the AM news.

Bless you my friend - have a nice day - :-)
this is amazing, Phill. we always think are problems are so bad, and then we see the plight of others and ours become almost insignificant.
the second stanza with the broken leaves as displaced refugees is such a clever metaphor.
love it.

The mind always seeking proper answers and maybe Phill, there is none. I liked the flow of thoughts leading to the proper ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
