Ripples

Ripples

Malicious pebbles pitched into world waters

Thrown by the hands of authoritarian sprites

Create epicentre stormy discordant waves

Throughout the fragile currents of humanity

Surreptitious schema contrived by these few

Gain impetus through contaminated conformity

By countless susceptible manipulated minions

Following the misrepresentations of real truth

Our natural macrocosm is tainted by pollutants

From aberrant attitudes towards sustainability

And as death cries of the near extinct resound

An attitude of denial falls upon many deaf ears

Inequalities abound from the abuse of equity

And opportunities to achieve an equilibrium

To every variety of wide-ranging organisms

Is sacrificed for the sake of short lived profit

Disparity is an artificially created commodity

Used as a weapon of control and ascendancy

It’s time we all woke up and smelt the coffee

Before bean crops shrivel and expire forever

Allowing ripples of despondency to freely flow

Only fuels future generates loss of real liberties

And constructs complexities hard to tear down

Putting unfettered power into oppressing hands

We have a collected responsibility to protest

Against absurdities destroying commonsense

As custodians of a bestowed Eden inheritance

It is worth protecting passionately at all costs

Fabulous piece of writing here Phill. Rich in choice of language, vivid in imagery and telling it exactly as it is. Sadly profit is everything nowadays. It is the duty of everyone who cares for our environment to stand up and be counted. We are responsible through our own neglect for what is taking place. Many will share your thoughts here. Good to see you posting such a substantial and well thought out piece. Have a good Saturday.

Also very much admire your choice of posted artwork.

G' morning, Phill. Beneath the tainted water graphic, you've metaphored( the mess and muck of life and language's 's happenings. For me the following makes a finely put quote,

' Disparity is an artificially created commodity + Used as a weapon of control and ascendancy + It’s time we all woke up and smelt the coffee + Before bean crops shrivel and expire forever.. '

Quality and example is near fading away.

I love what you're saying, I agree with every word, & I admire you for being able to express all THIS without expressing any rancor along with it. I can barely think of this topic without being pissed. I am told on a fairly regular basis that my writing is kinda analytical & the language I use is complex, such that half my readers don't understand half of what I'm saying. That is how this poem strikes me, altho I not only understand everything you say, but I love when someone speaks intelligently & precisely (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
