Washed Away

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee

Washed Away

Great wisdom takes time

It is quickly washed away

In the hands of fools

wow! how easy it is to take wisdom lightly ... a precious gift given to put our eyes on others well being says i ... and what a fool it is who treats it with disdain .. great pic ... wonderful wisdom in your senryu ... i imagine the minds of fools quickly collapse into darkness and confusion ... a powerful warning says i!

However beautiful sand might seem shimmering under the sun... heard in the pitch dark of a desert.. it mourns its shifting and dry expanse. have heard it! So, for me, this brief poem holds enormous meaning. Even has a touch of political unease!! Once said that it needs a wise man to solve the planet's problems but an analyst raised his hand and asked if a truly wise man would be foolish enough to even try. Similar thought to your fine write, Phill.

I love how the sand ties in with the haiku, even though it's not directly about sand. Good job!

Such a dynamic piece, condensed in seventeen syllables!

Indeed, often in the tide of the ignorance, social media its force. And, that image is what we're seeing in the US, a sandcastle collapsing, its supporting eroding. Insightful piece!
