D-Day Tribute

D-Day Tribute

Sword

Juno

Gold

Omaha

Utah

The bloodstained beaches

Where an evil deluge

Of satanic ideology turned

Courage

Comradeship

Tenacity

Ingenuity

Determination

Liberty finally landed

On Europe’s war frayed door

Upholding bravery’s shield

Sacrifice

Heroism

Valour

Resolve

Glory

All price and honours in conflict

With freedom’s weapons

To break and bind the foe

Solemnity

Respect

Reflection

Reverence

Remembrance

As we pay our homage

To those who gave us

Sweet fruits of freedom

yes, one war that had good reason...freedom was infringed upon...the soldiers of this war saw purpose before and after....on the rest of us reflect with much reverence for those who served...
Some leaders are so blindly followed...and we ask how or why...
this expressive poem is a perfect tribute to those who served...

'D-Day Tribute'
Phil Oz O'Fee,
I think of the images portrayed in documentaries, testimonies of those who actually fought who are now gone. Words are hard to find at the thought of where we are now in this world. I as others have those in the family whom went to war. They oftimes struggle to communicate their experience and I can understand why.
Blessings,
Kathy

' Solemnity - Respect - Reflection - Reverence - Remembrance '

You know how I respect each and every one of these words, Phill. Finely laid language, more than touching content.

You're welcome.
A beautiful tribute, Phill. It is hard to comprehend so many young men putting their lives on the line. They were definitely a different breed...the likes of which will not be seen again.
