Sumptuous Spirit

Sumptuous Spirit

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

... of my dreams

"

Sumptuous Spirit

A wave of silent slumber

Sweeps over inner soul

Floating new imaginations

On lithe dreamscape tides

Gentle lapping anticipations

Caress my seventh heaven

Where waits an idyllic vision

Of all my needs and wants

Coy subtle elusive illusions

Give glimpses of my utopia

Enraptured in passion arms

And feelings swathed in love

Translucent sultry spectre

Lusciously teasing my sleep

Terpsichore nonpareil spirit

Consuming my every dream

With wondrous whisperings

She ensnares my emotions

And entwines my very being

In fragrances of stimulations

Slender adroit fingers strum

Through my pulsing psyche

Playing her mystical melodies

Revitalising static heartstrings

Dawn brings reality sadness

As dystopia fades from mind

My smoke and mirrors maiden

Awaits my coming back tonight

i woke up this morning to this dream, and it was great while it lasted...transported me to another place, that utopia of feelings...and then the last stanza brought me back to reality...but all in all...reality these days is okay if i ignore all that is going on around me.
quite got me going here.

YESSSSS! This was an orgasmic tiptoe thru your finely-crafted words. For me, this was one of your best, becuz it was easier to read than some of your poems can be. Sometimes you use words that are "complex" or not commonly known . . . even tho your writing is flowing, reader's attention stops & starts as we work over words & decide to google to get a firm understanding. But in this poem, you use your plentiful complex words, but perfectly balanced in a way where only a time or two I had to pause to interpret an unfamiliar word. For me, the meaning of your poem does not stand out as being about literal dreaming during sleep, but rather more in the way we can be moving thru our lives in a dreamlike hypnotic way, without even realizing it. These days, I choose to live in this dream quite a bit, rather than get worked up about the sad state of the world (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

' Translucent sultry spectre - Lusciously teasing my sleep - Terpsichore nonpareil spirit - Consuming my every dream.. '

A sumptuous poem, Phill, full of rich thoughts and passionate words. I hear the lyrics, 'Love is in the air.. ' whispering in the background whilst you look into space, lost in your glorious world. What a place to be!
