There was a time, not so many years ago, when this was exactly what I wished for, from a certain man in my life. But it's a tricky balance, being supportive of another person's healing gains, but not coming at this with a "fix her" approach. That's the perfect balance your words convey . . . this is how you stand by someone without assuming your assistance will be needed, just offering affection (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

'I Will Kiss Your Scars'
Phil Oz O'fee,
To accept the reality in one another of 'coping mechanisms' is so winsome. I think that we all have unique experiences and deal with the effects accordingly-uniquely. We are complex after all as is all of our lives. You have given voice to what is needed by all of us. Sounds like love to me.
Blessings,
Kathy

Not all scars are visible...the toughest ones to deal with are those you cannot see...it's hard to know how to approach someone with emotional scars...the risk is being pushed away when you want to help. All you can do is be there when they understand you're there to help, no questions asked...no reward desired.
A good write, Phill.

Imagining scars, buried deep inside memories and emotions is incredibly profound. Showcasing a true vulnerability, something worse than physical pain. Your words are precious. Much love!

Your comments are very apt for my humble write - thank you very much my friend .. :-)
This is unconditional love, maybe romantic or just platonic, but love nonetheless. This touched me. As someone deceived and hurt by a close loved one, I felt the sincerity and warmth of your words. Thank you for sharing this poem.

A kind review my friend … so glad you could relate … :-)
A friend indeed to recognise that scars take a long to time to heal, in appearance they fade but under the layers still they bleed...
Patience and unending love is just what the heart doctor prescribes
