A Feminine Touch

A Feminine Touch

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Talented friend...

"

A Feminine Touch

In steel cap boots and jade camouflage coat

Her shovel the most relied upon best friend

Virgin land was broken to prepare the beds

For new private grounds landscaped extend

The bow rake smoothed arced gravel paths

Adding continuity to pastel coloured garden

Where trusty transplant spade safely placed

Border plants in planned semi-circle margin

Grabbing long-handled Dutch hoe for weeds

She cuts tangled roots to terminate their rein

And turns garden fork for planting preparation

So all specimens are matched in their terrain

Assiduously with her dexterous skilful fingers

The assignment from kick-off to completion

Turned wild grassland into exquisite setting

Packed wonderful in colour smooth transition

Enjoying fresh created magnificent panorama

The loving ambiance displayed by her labour

Bloomed evident for all to take their pleasure

Her landscaping creative skills never waver

Her skill speaks through your exquisitely detailed words Phill. This is a woman who speaks to the earth with her hands, like you speak to her heart with your poet’s words. Your verses are beautiful landscapes in themselves, showing us how this friend creates new ground. Lovely flow, cadence, rhyme and imagery of
the landscaper’s vitality and art. Picture rocks!- literally! Need to go garden a bit now... Delightful write!

An artist of the earth. Illustrated in words. Interesting concept that worksd so well. Each verse a border or a place of its own in this garden.

Phill,
An unusual and interesting work. Apparently you have studied this damsel a lot while she works the green earth. Is the young lady in the photo, the gardener in question?
"She cuts tangled roots to terminate their rein." Nice choice of words, has a flow to it. And this might sound strange . . .but I enjoyed the rhyming scheme because it was gentle and not jarring as if I had to brace myself for the next rhyme.
BTW, Is O'fee Irish or Scott?!!!

You have given us a beauty, giving us beauty.
Is there a better combination anywhere.
Very nicely done.
you have also introduced me to two artists that I have never seen before.
Thanks for all
