Go uncensored every day

And marketing violent acts

Blatantly striking on display

Sublimely cloaked deception

Hypnotically captures prey

To download illicit content

And tags these child’s play

Perpetrators’ turn into heroes

Twisting tales of social status

Tainting their deceived disciples

Saying ‘it’s good to be a racist’

When teenagers view suicide

As a preference to mull over

It’s time to police the internet

Regulating rank raw exposure

Desensitising seems widespread

When many blasé outlooks thrive

For global events have exposed

Online abuse ruins fragile lives

Strong write with an even stronger message. The Internet giants need to clean their act up big time and government should ensure they do. A topical write sadly and one that isn't going to go away. Too many young people with mental health problems and I point the finger at the Internet. Great read Phill.

The internet, both a blessing and a curse in the same breath and which brings out the best and the worse in our species.

How to regulate such a sprawling giant is no easy task, and for sure there is little chance of self regulation; that doesn't work in the real world of bottom line self interest first and last. It's like the UK voluntary banking code, which was set up to ensure good standards of practice. It's been around for a while now, but it hasn't managed to stop sticky fingers rifling the tills and I expect it never will.

A strong write and one that we should all heed.
