The Birds Still Sing

The Birds Still Sing

WW1 remembered ...

The Birds Still Sing

One hundred years searching

For an explanation of why

And no reasonable answer

Can rationalize such loss

A wrong turning to Sarajevo

Knocked down the first domino

What starting with one death

Ended with seventeen million

‘Lest we forget’ is the slogan

For our remembrance services

And as we homage in silence

On this commemorative occasion

Listen out for the sound of hope

For the birds still sing it loudly

Mmmm war is never answer to anything...
It's always good to remember that violence was never the answer.... Mmm did not know your dad was part of WW2.... peace be upon the souls and the families those survive in the memory of their loved ones....

So many lost in wars, so many hurt and cannot heal their mind;- My Dad fought in WW2 and gone now.
War is just painful;-

The why. Questions that answered by brave men. Powerful poetry for the memory of your father. My father served in two wars. He was never right. Very violence. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and memories.
