Intensive Care

Intensive Care

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Praying for my mother's full recovery at this time ….

"

Intensive Care

Electrocardiogram

Clicks rhythms

In tune with sound drops

Of a saline drip

And all around

Sterilised scented smells

From disinfected tiles

Fill the intensive care unit

Time travels

In seemingly slow moments

From one laboured inhale

To exhaled warm breathe

Monitored intently

By medical experts

Of professional personnel

Trained for such occasion

In their hands

We place our trust

To administer treatment

With modern remedies

In hopeful confidence

Of relief or full recovery

To the suffering

Of the one’s we love

I pray for your mom's recovery from the core of my heart Phill....
I know how it feels when you see you mom sick and when you're left with only hopes at doctors and God....not even a bit of calmness knocks at the door of the heart at that time...only impatience to see mom getting well.....
Almighty's grace be upon you mom and you dear...she may get well sooner💐

This is a beautiful tribute, not only to the healing journey of your mom, but also to the support people who make it possible. I love all the specific details you use to paint the scene in a realistic way. I love the way there's a juxtaposition between the hard cold realities & the warmth of human intervention. I'm hoping that your mom is now fully out of the woods, as far as her health (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

May God show you the way, and I wish nothing but the best for your mother! I've been on the other side of this poem, as the one In bed. However It wasn't horribly serious, yet seeing your mother with a worried tearstricked face is something I wish to forget, and I cannot stand the thought of her being in that position.

Best of prayers and wishes to you.

Our lives in their hands. That's when we really start to appreciate these dedicated caregivers. It is so hard seeing a parent fighting for their health. I wish your Mum a full recovery and hope you manage to get some sleep. You'll need your strength. Your poetry always of a high standard Phill.

It's a hopeless feeling being in that situation. There is not much we can do except offer comfort. I pray that your mother has a full recovery.

God bless
