Friends I Applaud

Friends I Applaud

Friends I Applaud

The intoxication

In their driven shared passions

Of smoulderingly

Kindled entwined consciousness

Melded into a fervent

Enrapture of near oneness

Protectively concealed

Within a private space

Soft subtle shadows

Danced in flickering radiance

From many rose and musk

Scented burning candles

Thunderous waves

Of low breathe converse whispers

Gave mutual exchanged

Assurances of tender devotions

Where adore pledged promises

Would never be broken

Such rarity found

Between two dedicated lovers

Should be applauded

By those of us who observe

And in some ways

To aspire are own relationships

Awe, coming off the heals of my daughters wedding I must say I truly appreciated this poem and the imagery it creates. Yes it is far more rare these days to marry and even more so to pledge ourselves to another. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem on the love and intimate secrets of what it means to be a couple. Cheers!

Aww, this is so beautiful , a true poem of love and tenderness.

Many couples never find this level of "oneness" , it is totally and unselfishly giving yourself to be part of the whole being.

Lovely warmth in the poem, of the nurturing love. Gentle embrace and the image of breathing in eachother is beautiful-a connection reached that far surpasses any merely physical connection. As always and needless to say elegant flow and suited no punctuation. It's really the descriptions that are the highlight of this poem, the 'pledged promises' and 'flickering radiance'.

Beautifully worded and flowing piece, focusing on the beauty of togetherness, that we perhaps overlook in the day to day of a cynical world. It really is beautiful to stop amidst the chaos of our days and see two people lost in each other.
Beautifully captured.

'Protectively concealed.. Within a private space .. Soft subtle shadows.. Danced in flickering radiance.. From many rose and musk.. Scented burning candles.'

Superb wording, as elegant as the dress and more but, adding that underlying prayer that ritual becomes reality.. sadly, a rarity, these days. You always 'pen' in a meaningful way, Phil, this is no exception to your own rule. '

It's always a pleasure.. truly
I do applaud people who are so deeply in love and manage to be for years and years without giving up on one another... I think being able to love each other is a true creation of hearts and souls... Add the years together in and those people need a standing ovation... Thanks for sharing
