History is written by the victors, not the most honest.
Superb piece Sette, which points out something I only recently found out, how two nations could write such different stories about the same thing. I was talking to an American friend, who was pretty “up” on the subject and it gave me such a different perspective.
Growing up in Britain, I was used to family tales of suffering, rations and night time blitzes, (The town I live in had only seven houses left standing at the end of the war, due to being near the river, where all the ships were built) We even have a museum of the blitz just along the road, as well as a memorial to the Polish fisherman who saved untold lives by shining their lights in the most unselfish of acts, to take the bombs away from the town.
Her perspective of it was much different, with family members telling of how they thought their boys were on vacation, until the brutal reality was shown for all to see. One thing is for sure though, we couldn’t have done it without all the allies, brought together by the single fact that we should unite against evil. I for one am proud of what we all achieved, it is just a pity that it is always war that brings out the best in people. Just think what we could achieve with the same attitude in peace time.

It is true that love is blind.... but broken hearts don't always keep mending, sometimes they just curl up and hide themselves away. Between the lines are powerful forces of persuasion...
Great poem my friend. How many of us become blindsided by love...yes, we don’t read “Between The Lines” or we do and don’t want to process the message. Words dissect and render feelings splayed, bleeding-“a brutal shredding of my heart”. Hard lessons learned hard. Poignant, allegorical write. Kudos!

I am caught in a time spiral of confusion; that period we all experience between birth and death.
