Warmth of friends is missed after a cold spell .........

Absent Friends

Reflecting on friends

Non-present at this moment

And how I miss them

Most of my friends are dead now so they won't be joining me unless I go to them. I lost two to heart attacks, two to cancer, one to suicide and one to an accidental overdose. They were all cherished but I can't have them back. Treasure your friends while you have them.

This poignant senryu reminded me of friends who have passed over. Several lost to cancer. Years later and I treasure there memory and the good times. Lost in the prime of life.

I lost a Poet friend who misunderstood... that I needed time to
gather strength to catch up with personal obligations. I had no chance to explain
as I was misunderstood. To forgive and forget is often difficult. Pat

(Young angels - them, who didn't know one can never have enough of it!) The space that absence leaves also leaves a mark that never quite disappears.

Your brief words have said so much more than..
