A Shadow Walking

A Shadow Walking

A Shadow Walking

Stealthily an onerousness malevolent presence

Concealed behind barbed-wired walls of falsity

Waits for opportunities to contamination the truth

Spewing it's viral black poisonous seductions

Using disguised deceitful cataclysmal persuasion

This demonic stalker sneaks into unguarded souls

Falling quarry to this formidable phantom foeman

Made easier when accepting a world without light

And growing negativity outstrips optimism in our lives

Wander not aimlessly from a bright moralistic strategy

Keep a beacon shield of righteousness in firm hand

A great defence in battling hell's antagonist tormentor

A world without optimism would be untenable, would leave us prey to "demons" and despair. Never that! Your eloquent, dark poem is so strikingly beautiful and filled with predictive portent. We cannot afford to complacently accept the evil that lurks around us now. So well-said my friend- we must Brandish the shield of love, humanity and compassion and always walk in the light. Magnificent poem!

Right away you grab the reader with a description of someone meaning to do harm, one who is already strategizing for it. The harm, the writer warns, is one of damaging the reader's experience of the truth and being seduced by accepting a dark world without a "strategy" of morality that serves as a shield against this. A very descriptive personification!!

"Wander not aimlessly from a bright moralistic strategy

Knowledge IS power. A bright moralistic strategy? Brilliant way to describe how far too many adopt another's code, religion, way of life and condemn all others.

Well done.

Keeping the light of optimism will soon see this dark shadow fade into nothingness.
According to Leonard Cohen, "There is a crack in everything ,that's how the light gets in"..
