Sultry Summer Days

Sultry summer days of memorable retreat

Fill my mind with bygone closeness images

When first we privately meandered delicate

Amongst riotous multi-coloured wild flowers

Concealed from view we laid our heads

Gazing upwards at a thousand clouding shapes

Imaginings overspilled creative musing thoughts

Until we nervously turned to face each other

Looking seekingly into each others eyes

Where shone reflections of mutual adoration

We were attracted closer to shared absorption

And followed thus our embrace of passionate

I detected a sudden soft intake of breath

As trembling lips caressed exposed skin

Your gasping whispers commanding attention

Of this enlistee soul's conforming surrender

A time period of life captured in fond memory

Contemplated during my solitary moments

When I smilingly reflect the golden remembrance

Of our precious sultry summer days

Love this how you described shifting clouds, "Gazing upwards at a thousand clouding shapes."

I felt the tension as I read this, "Until we nervously turned to face each other
Looking seekingly into each others eyes
Where shone reflections of mutual adoration
We were attracted closer to shared absorption." Very skillfully-written description of emotional turmoil. I enjoyed reading this verse which gave me a wondrous, golden feeling of nostalgia.

Thank you for visiting and reading "Black Gossamer & Legs."

Beautifully written. Very evocative. I can feel and hear and see the field of wildflowers and the thousand clouding shapes.

The days when the sun shone, and life was a stolen kiss. Give me them back now.
