Political Correctness # 1

Political Correctness # 1

Political Correctness # 1

It started off an excellent proposal

To eradicate exclusion and marginalisation

Through a process of support and education

The protagonists would be punished

For their abhorrent transgressions

The sufferers lifted high and rescued

Except now these fine intentions

Are being high jacked by politicians

Distorting rational original applications

Controlling colours of our ice-cream

Banning Mark Twain novels

For the language that he used

All part of a liberal-left conspiracy

To silence our personal opinions

Undermining constructive free speech

But like all abused agendas

When the pendulum swings too far

Common sense will pull us back

Legitimate deliberations can facilitate

And encourage proper positive debate

We must hold to account falsehoods
