Second Chance

Second Chance

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

The truth shall set you free - it sometimes gives you a second chance to put things right.

"

Second Chance

His former peripatetic existence

Had taken its grisly toll

Relationships irrepealably creased

With countless broken promises

Creating a poignant fragile vacuum

Of unfilled colourless opportunities

Sheathed and concealed within

A heart of frozen dreams

His most feared adversary

The cleansing rapier of truth

Administered the fatal blow

Fracturing both fortitude and spirit

Forcing uncontrollable humility

To smash down egotistic self

Yet gave this wrecked man

The prospect to put things right

WOW! This is a really great poem! You are such a talented writer and you have truly inspired me to work harder on my writing so that maybe one day I can make poems with this great of a context!

wow. This is a splendid poem. It is a brilliant reminder to the reader that those little 'realities' we create for ourselves are so fragile....little soap bubble things.

This is a thought provoking write. Truths are sometimes hard to face and painful at first but if the gift of realisation is handled wisely it can turn out to be a beacon of light
