Shadow in OneselfA Poem by Phill Oz O'feeA shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object.Shadow in Oneself
I meet a shadow In the motionless pitch-dark Whispering disquiets From achromatic impediments And nestled In unconscious hidden aspects of myself There rested An impoverishment of personality
Oh to rid A wretched self I do not wish to be An inferior creature Wanting dark forbidden impulses Becoming antagonistic When misunderstood or seemingly neglected Strewn nonchalant with Both ill considered thoughts and deeds
The imperative challenge Is to suppress unpleasant
negativity Recognizing
dark facets Of
persona as current and authentic Submitting
accountable For
what I projected onto others To
gain a liberation Much
greater than mere self-image
