Revivification

Revivification

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

To come back to life

"

Revivification

Prostrate athwart this morass heart
Inscriptions of indelible truths
Reveal the very nature of my identity
Though this is safely encapsulated
Behind citadel walls of impenetrable denial

I have somnolently watched smiles
Spiral helplessly down life’s waste pipe
Whereupon turbulences of self-criticism
Stagnated them into pools of broken dreams
Unwearyingly waiting for a time of restitution

Disillusionment has nearly broken my spirit
Through unrighteous actions of kindred mortals
Hypocritically disguising their real agendas
In smoke and mirrored illusory lifestyles
Proclaiming themselves as reputable friends

Fortunately our unanticipated encounter
Has proved to be a sanguine harbour
Shielding me from an evil worldly squall
And through your fortitude of faith in me
My distinctiveness has been restored
