Cobblestone Roads and Horse Driven CoachesA Poem by Phillip WolkeHow far have we come, how far can we go back? These old cobblestone roads and old horse drawn coaches simply changed places with man driven forces. Forcing the average worker in forces to take to the street in horse powered coaches. From the dawn of the ages the man driven forces have taken ideas and applied different forces. From gravity, To electronics and magnetic forces, We power our world with scientific forces. From physics to chemistry, Engineering and alchemy, We say to ourselves just living without things, How could he? In the past there existed no superior technology, No instant messaging, No cancer medicine. Just how did he do it? We ask as we look at our phone, At least we have the ability to phone our parents. But, When you look past the fact that we're forced on technology, You realize one thing becomes truly apparent: We still live with these cobblestone roads and horse powered coaches. Not even smoothing the past out with technology and forces can take away the fact that we're only smoothing them out. They went from a buggy to a Camry with horse power. Traditional clothes transformed to Eddie Bower. Pebble calculators transformed to computers. So the issue becomes, How many see through to the truth? How many watch TV waiting for what the media forces? And if we see through the lies will it force any change? Perhaps not, But for now we need only change, Our minds to a more simple thought process, It's strange, How many will realize that when Atlas shrugs It all will change back to the cobblestone roads and horse driven coaches. © 2023 Phillip Wolke |
