Case of the Mondays

Case of the Mondays

A Poem by 3rd Gunman
"

N/A

"
staring down this computer screen for the 8th hour I've come to realize
the 9-5 commitment I'm whipped with does not compare to the golgotha
to be endured when I enter the front door to no greeting...

the stove as cold as your heart as these two children in all their oblivion
demand microwaved joy. Instant father just add water

no matter how hot and boiling over the silence of lips that once uttered "I do"
nothing seems to sanitize what lies before me

the roadkill that was once a dream called forever chills the air
though the couch is still warm from the past year of your slumber

I don't even make the bed anymore

remembering once my queen
I occupy half of a queen with lamentation

Clearly the lost time, ,money divided home, weight gain, career lost and enemy found
is not evidence enough of the sacrifice I have made only to have the burden of mourning a morning

and explain...

why mommy is coming home tonight
