Where fear lies forgotten
Where conscience is unknown Where freedom stands unhindered Where all bravado is shown There, standing tall on his mountain Man waves his banner high His words flowing in fountain His ideas echoing undenied His claims go unchallenged His manifesto reaching every ear His reason accepted with rejoicing And his wisdom is held dear He preaches as a minister One proclaiming truths as God And here the people believed him For none knew suffering by Jesse's rod For fear lies forgotten And the people do not know They were reared as obedient sheep In a land of whitest snow But, in the course of man And the evolution of the mind There is always one who questions And seeks to give sight to eyes blind The man knows the snow to be a farce He wonders at its illusion And looking at the fearless man He finds the people's delusion But, what power has he To counter this man of great voice Where the people stand ready To cut down free choice A sheep will follow the shepherd Ignorant of his intentions And walk by his staff Into his world of deception They believe what they are told And act as they are commanded But like the questioning man Several seek this state disbanded For fear lies forgotten And the man enforces his will Yet failure was inevitable For knowledge is desired still The subjugation of a people Is impossible without force, without fear Man's spirit must be removed And their minds turned to gears Gears which are wound by the hand of some master One who has seized the opportunity of days past Where the world fell to unmentionable destruction And what made men great was into the fire cast The industry of control A mechanism of sound deceit To chill bones cold They beg for immediate relief A need is seen rising So high above the smog Desperation clamors, imbibing Vicious manners of famished dogs A flame culls the herd And their spirits cower quick They beckon for a savior To heal bodies so sick Opportunity rings loudly In the ears of one man An innovator stands proudly To free these wicked lands But what freedom is this? When their fear is sent flying Down deep into the pits Where demons live hiding As this man walks Waving his standard high Rallying with haughty talk All people to his side The beasts are cast down Oppressors made dead, made slaves A new king bears the crown Fear is forgotten in waves But no paradise be this A world without evils many One above wields wicked wits Power is amassed in plenty For fear was forgotten In in the desperation for light When one man came calling To change the course of the plight The devil never left A new form he only took Man had forgotten fear And his sinister look "Relish now, dear children Live in total ecstasy Gone are days of discipline Tradition is all but history" Piety dies derelict Apostacy rides rampant The streets are soaked in sin Freedmen serve enchantment God casts his face down Upon this brave new world His heart is grieved sorely The tendrils of corruption are unfurled Where be holy people? Those who see through the dark Hoping for a new age And He who will set the spark Can they clear the fog? Ignore the Prince's poison? Do they run for the hills When the sword is upon them? A prayer I raise up A prayer to God on high May he here my propitiation As sin in secret multiplies Do not let me go Down into the deep Of unknown horrors Where demons pretend to sleep Do not let these wicked torrents Cast my soul about Steady my feet against evil So that I may hold out Where fear lies forgotten The master descends in clouds With fire and brimstone ready Bringing low men so proud In those final days May my words, my actions be used To lift the fog of death From hearts with hate suffused To the end may we endure As servants to the only king As saints, not apostates For his praises we do sing Glory be to the Father A blessing be to the Son Thanks be to the Spirit Almighty, Three in One Amen
