Running and running
Forever onward and away Away from my past My failures My sorrows My grief Running and searching Looking for light of redemption Redemption from the strife I caused From lives I took From the pain I inflicted From the destruction I brought Running and hoping Hoping to be forgiven Forgiven for my sins For my carelessness For my heartlessness For my hate Running and forgetting Forgetting everything I've done Everything I've seen Everything I've heard Everything I've lost For now, all I have is to forget I ran too fast I ran past the light Caught up in my desperation I shoved aside forgiving hands Guilt being my master Fear being my weakness The gorge swallowed me As I tripped on the roots of my loss I fell forgotten And so, I did the same And my pain washed away And with it went my soul
