When Darkness Spoke

When Darkness Spoke

A Poem by Aventicus
"

A poem about the all consuming darkness.

"
When Darkness Spoke
It gave birth to a beast
The whole earth it shook
All life it took
And on all joy it did feast
All human will it broke
The world was ravaged by its fearsome claws
All nations it did destroy
Great brutality did it employ
And all human glory was crushed in its jaws

When Darkness Spoke
The world into shadow fell
Everyone was blind and stumbling
For a glimpse of light they were fumbling
And all felt they were in hell
Anything bright the shadow did choke
There was nothing they could follow
All certainty was taken
All bravery was shaken
And indeed humanity felt quite hollow

When Darkness Spoke
It whispered into humanity's ear
It told them things seemingly sweet
Things which would be humanity's defeat
And of consequences humans had no fear
Humanity felt free of any yoke
They acted in such vile ways
The world being theirs for consumption
Falling ever deeper into corruption
They unwary of the price they must pay

All this came to pass
When Darkness Spoke

Not bad. It seemed that some parts just drug out the same idea, but it wasn't awful. I think it could use a little refining in that you should streamline the delivery of the idea.
